The address of the Blickle Raum on Spiegelgasse and its historical references are the motivic anchor point for this work.
Spiegelgasse works with the visitors’ self reflection and focuses on their experience of space and reality. Sööt/Zeyringer guides the audience in the exhibition space to an intimate shift in perception. In the installative setting, they provide verbal impulses that direct our attention and invite us to participate. Reflecting surfaces expand the space and open up a kind of parallel reality to the viewer. On the other hand, the gaze concentrates on one’s own counterpart: the mirror image is a partner and corrective, a critic and self-assurance.
